Superintendent Tony Borba: Chad Condit will Go the Extra Mile for Us

Tony Borba
On June 5, I will be voting for Chad Condit and here’s why. Soon after becoming superintendent of the Salida Union School District in 1998, I became aware that the district was eligible for approximately $2.4 million as reimbursement for the construction of Dena Boer School, which had been paid with local funds.

When we contacted the Office of Public School Construction, we were told not to bother to submit the necessary paperwork, as they were not willing to even consider the district’s request.

At that time, I called Chad Condit and asked him to contact the Office of Public School Construction and ask that they review our application for reimbursement.

Soon after that, we were contacted by the Office of Public School Construction and directed to submit the necessary paperwork for reimbursement for construction of Dena Boer School.

We ended up receiving approximately $2.4 million. The district used these funds to complete phase 2 of Salida Middle School, which included, among other things, a cafeteria and a woodshop.

The bottom line is that without Chad Condit’s intervention, it would have been many years before Salida Middle School students would’ve had a cafeteria and a woodshop.

This is one of the many reasons I’m supporting Chad Condit!
